Snow Day Shenanigans!

Your friends at Accent Dental tend to get a little bit stir crazy when you don't come see us... When the snow arrived in the St. Louis area, a lot of our patients were stuck at home (cozy and warm, we hope!) Although our priority is taking care of our patients, when no one is able to make it in, what better way than to spend the day learning and improving our own oral health? The doctors and Assistants graciously spent a portion of the day helping each other out while we waited for our friends to arrive (and the roads to improve) 😉 Our windows made us feel like we were looking into a giant snow globe Cutie Parker (Sarah's daughter) also had a snow day... Check up time! Even Assistants get anxious too... Patricia adjusts Jen P.'s nitrous nose to help keep her calm Meagan brushed up on her prophy skills by giving fellow front office team member, Brittany, a cleaning!

Greater St. Louis Dental Society Mid Continent Dental Congress

Last Thursday and Friday, Kerri, Dr. Naegler, Sarah and Corri attended the Mid Continent Dental Congress hosted by the Greater St. Louis Dental Society They had a great time meeting all of the doctors that refer to our offices, as well as discussing how we are able to help under-served children in the area. There were also many opportunities for continuing education courses so our team is always up to date on the latest knowledge and techniques to take care of our patients! In the midst of their busy two days, they were able to capture a few pictures for us back in the office. 😁 Dr. Naegler and Dr. Yoon, two beautiful doctors with picture perfect smiles Several dental professionals swam on over to visit 😉 Our friends at Avid Dental presenting their new ProphyFit hygiene handpiece Dr. Yoon, Dr. Hosler and Dr. Naegler. No scrubs today! Check back in February when a few members of our staff travel to Chicago for the Annual Midwinter Meeting hosted by the C

Pumpkins Everywhere!

The staff at Accent Dental like to have a little friendly competition every now and again. This fall, we decided there's no better way to celebrate the season than a No-Carve Pumpkin Contest! The team used their best creative skills to decorate a pumpkin without actually carving like a traditional jack-o-lantern. Eckert's Country Store and Farm was kind enough to provide two gift certificates for cooking classes to the winners. Our doctors also upped the stakes with gift cards in addition to the cooking classes! Winners to be announced on Monday... Wish Us Luck! Which is your favorite pumpkin?

Give Kids A Smile hosted by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Dental Medicine

Give Kids A Smile Day October 8, 2018 SIUE School of Dental Medicine One of our amazing doctors, Dr. Kosten, is an assistant professor and the director of community dentistry at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Dental Medicine. Every year, Dr. Kosten and the students/staff at the SDM host Give Kids A Smile Day, sponsored by the American Dental Association. Give Kids A Smile is organized to provide free dental treatment to underserved children, and to promote community awareness about the needs for dental treatment.  Dr. Kosten says: “Our annual Columbus Day event provides a wonderful opportunity to provide treatment to hundreds of children. The holiday affords those needing urgent dental care to come see us. Children have their dental concerns addressed and have some fun at the same time.” Dr. Naegler and Dr. Todd, along with our wonderful team of assistants, provided dental treatment to children who were more apprehensive...our specialty!

"Why can't I come back for my child's treatment appointment?"

At Accent Dental, we always  want you to know what's going on with your child's oral health. It makes us happy to have parents in the back who are enthusiastic about getting involved and encouraging their children to promote healthy habits. After all, a healthy smile starts at home! That being said, sometimes cavities happen. Inadequate brushing and flossing, misinformation and sometimes even genetic factors make children susceptible to early childhood caries. This means we have to bring your little one back to the office for "restorative dentistry". If you have been a patient with us for a while, you know that our policy has always been only the doctor, assistant and patient are in the room during treatment appointments. While it might seem scary at first to let your child out of your sight, please know our main goal is to take care of your child in the most comfortable, efficient way possible. We always aim to instill in our parents the confidence that y

Purple Stride St. Louis 2018

Dr. Naegler's Mom, Dr. Sondra, has been fighting a tough fight with pancreatic cancer this year. Despite her obstacles, she remains positive and keeps a smile on her face 😁 On Sunday, members of the Accent team attended the Purple Stride 5k run/walk benefiting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. It was a privilege to walk in Dr. Sondra's honor and raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research efforts.   Check out the pictures below to see how we "waged hope" to double survival rates by 2020. Team Accent Dental For Dr. Sondra Guest Speaker Scott Rizzuto from 105.7 The Point High Fives for Fredbird! Brittany P., Dr. Naegler and Meagan Lejla celebrating reaching the Finish Line! Meet our family out west

Last week we mentioned that our new Wentzville staff is training between our office and a "sister" location. Meet the smiling faces of Mid Missouri Dental Center, located in Columbia, MO! From Left to Right: Precious (Dental Assistant), Lisa (Dental Assistant), Lauren (Dental Assistant), Kerri (Office Manager), Brittney (Dental Assistant), Donna (Reception), Karen (Dental Assistant and Reception), Ashleena (Dental Assistant), Jessica (Dental Assistant and Reception) Mid Missouri Dental Center opened in 1996 and was actually the first office owned by Dr. Naegler and Dr. Todd. They may not bare our same name, but that doesn't mean we love them any less 😊 Our team in Columbia upholds the same values and practice the level of patient care that you're familiar with here at our St. Louis location. In addition to taking care of little ones, they also see pregnant women. Mid Mo sees patients 5 days a week and are also very active in community outreach programs.
