Snow Day Shenanigans!

Your friends at Accent Dental tend to get a little bit stir crazy when you don't come see us...

When the snow arrived in the St. Louis area, a lot of our patients were stuck at home (cozy and warm, we hope!) Although our priority is taking care of our patients, when no one is able to make it in, what better way than to spend the day learning and improving our own oral health? The doctors and Assistants graciously spent a portion of the day helping each other out while we waited for our friends to arrive (and the roads to improve) 😉

Our windows made us feel like we were looking into a giant snow globe

Cutie Parker (Sarah's daughter) also had a snow day... Check up time!

Even Assistants get anxious too... Patricia adjusts Jen P.'s nitrous nose to help keep her calm

Meagan brushed up on her prophy skills by giving fellow front office team member, Brittany, a cleaning!

Every year, Dr. Kosten and the students/staff at the SDM host Give Kids A Smile Day, sponsored by the American Dental Association. Give Kids A Smile is organized to provide free dental treatment to underserved children, and to promote community awareness about the needs for dental treatment.  Dr. Kosten says: “Our annual Columbus Day event provides a wonderful opportunity to provide treatment to hundreds of children. The holiday affords those needing urgent dental care to come see us. Children have their dental concerns addressed and have some fun at the same time.” Dr. Naegler and Dr. Todd, along with our wonderful team of assistants, provided dental treatment to children who were more apprehensive...our specialty!

"Why can't I come back for my child's treatment appointment?"

At Accent Dental, we always  want you to know what's going on with your child's oral health. It makes us happy to have parents in the back who are enthusiastic about getting involved and encouraging their children to promote healthy habits. After all, a healthy smile starts at home! That being said, sometimes cavities happen. Inadequate brushing and flossing, misinformation and sometimes even genetic factors make children susceptible to early childhood caries. This means we have to bring your little one back to the office for "restorative dentistry". If you have been a patient with us for a while, you know that our policy has always been only the doctor, assistant and patient are in the room during treatment appointments. While it might seem scary at first to let your child out of your sight, please know our main goal is to take care of your child in the most comfortable, efficient way possible. We always aim to instill in our parents the confidence that y
